Pine is honored to have been selected by the Michiana Lions Club as one of the recipients of their backpack fundraiser (Stepping Stone Shelter was the other recipient).  Mr. Brian Pagels (above) and representatives from the LaPorte County United Way delivered the 25 beautiful and well appointed backpacks to Pine in late September, and they thanked Big R for their sponsorship of the project. Students Jayla P. and Kayla T. helped to unload them and thank our benefactors.

 

Pine will be using the backpacks as incentives for students who demonstrate exceptional academic progress in our reading programs this year.  We will invite Mr. Pagels and other members of Lions at our trimester awards ceremonies so they can witness how they have helped to motivate our students to excel!
