    We Love Our Teachers!

    Pine Hello! We Miss You.

  • Title 1 Parent Survey

Attention, Parents/Guardians/Family Members! As the family member of a student attending a Title I school, you are an important part of the Title I team. Your input is vital in the planning and implementation of the Parent and Family Engagement Program and activities in our school. The focus of all Title I programs is to help eligible students meet the same high academic achievement standards expected of all children, regardless of their socioeconomic status and background.

You can help us by completing the following survey, which is confidential and will be used to assist us with future planning for parent and family engagement activities and events. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. (If you would like a paper copy, please notify our school.)

  • Mr. Huber

My name is Zach Huber and I am extremely excited to be starting my third year as principal at Pine.  This year we welcome eight new classroom teachers and several support staff. I have no doubt that this year we will continue our rise to the top.

I have been married for 14 years and have three amazing daughters.  I was born and raised in LaPorte, graduated from Bethel College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and most recently earned my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana University Northwest. This is my 8th year with the district. Previously I taught at Joy Elementary and served as the Instructional Coach at both Niemann and Marsh.  Prior to my time in Michigan City I spent nine years teaching in the Gary Community School Corporation. I have had the privilege and joy of teaching grades two through six.

I remain passionate about the educational process and reaching all young people.  As an educational leader, I believe my ultimate goal is to improve instruction in order to increase student learning. With the amazing staff and strong parent and community partnerships, I believe that Pine School will continue to excel, motivating and empowering students to become successful in learning and in life.
