OzoBot, Jenny Minich La Porte County Library Ozobots are miniature smart robots that can follow lines or roam around freely, detect colors, and can also be programmed. After this workshop, educators and parents will know how to borrow curriculum kits from the library, calibrate the ozobots, access lesson plans, and teach students of all ages OzoBlockly, static codes, and flash codes.
Bitsbox, Jenny Minich La Porte County Library - Bitsbox teaches students in grades 3-6 how to create apps using JavaScript. After this workshop, teachers and parents will know how to borrow curriculum kits from the library, how to create bulk accounts in Bitsbox, and have the resources they need to teach students JavaScript.
Lego WeDo 2.0, Jenny Minich La Porte County Library - LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 curriculum teaches robotics, coding, and engineering as well as life, physical, earth, and space sciences to elementary students. Projects in the free software total more than 40 hours of instructional content. After this workshop, teachers and parents will understand the building directions for the physical robots and how to build the block-based code to program the robots.

Against Children (ICAC) Unit educates and informs the community about internet crimes and how to avoid becoming a victim. After this presentation, the community will be educated on internet safety and cyberbullying, as well as sexting and its relationship to sexual extortion and child pornography.

The Raspberry Pi is a tiny and affordable computer that you can use to learn programming through fun, practical projects. Participants will have an opportunty to assemble a Pi and program it to connect to the internet and/or play games on a 7 inch touch screen.

Everything you wanted to know about starting a school robotics club but were afraid to ask… a crash course in VEX terminology and tournament play. Learn about grant opportunities, then have a chance to operate some VEX IQ builds on this year’s game field. Indiana has experienced exponential growth in competitive robotics, and there is still funding and support for future teams. Offering students an opportunity to be recognized for an activity outside of sports is exciting!
