Below is a tax calculator to help individuals and businesses determine what you would have paid if the referendum had passed.
In order to use the calculator, you will need to know the GAV - Gross Assessed Value of your property.
- If you live in LaPorte County, you may find the GAV of your property at the LaPorte County Beacon Website. Enter your last name OR your address in the search engine and click "Search." If several properties appear, find yours and click on the ID. When your property report appears, scroll down the page to the section titled "Valuation" In the section labeled (Assessed Value) choose the most recent "Total" and place in the calculator below.
- If you live in Porter County, you may find the GAV of your property at the Porter County Property Tax Assessment Website. Enter your last name OR your address in the search engine and click "Submit." If several properties appear, click "Select" next to your property. When your property report appears, click on the link in the center of the page titled "Valuation History." Choose the "Total Value" of the most recent entry and place in the calculator below.
