• Attention, 8th Grade Parents and Students: Sign up for the 21st Century Scholars Program by June 30th!

The 21st Century Scholars program offers income-eligible Hoosiers up to four years of paid tuition at a participating Indiana college or university after graduating from high school. This program has been in place for the last 30 years and has benefited many of our former students!

    21st Century Scholars Enrollment Application

Parents are encouraged to apply online at http://scholartrack.in.gov
    1. Click “Register for an Account”.
    2. Once an account is created, click the link for “Apply for 21st Century Scholars” in the upper right-hand corner.

CLICK HERE to download a flyer with detailed instructions about setting up the account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1449-2023 states that current 7th- and 8th-grade Hoosier students who are financially eligible for Free and Reduced Price Lunch will be automatically enrolled in the 21st Century Scholars Program. However, because students attending Michigan City Area Schools receive meals at no cost through the Community Eligibility Program, we have not yet received confirmation that our students will be auto-enrolled in the 21st Century program. We urge all families to apply at the link above to ensure they receive this benefit.

What if my student is not interested in attending a college after high school?
Even if your student is not interested in attending a college after high school, we urge you to still apply if you think you will qualify for this program. We find that students do change their minds about college once they are in high school, but you cannot apply for this scholarship in high school. You need to apply for this scholarship by June 30th of the student’s 8th grade year.  It’s better to have the money and not use it than to need the money and not have it available to you. Qualifying for this scholarship program does not obligate you in any way to accept the scholarship or to attend college after high school, but it does give you the opportunity if you choose to take advantage of it.

We strongly encourage you to apply for this scholarship by June 30, 2024 for your 8th grade student.
