Meet the Teacher - Mrs. NoetzelMy name is Kim Noetzel and I am the Student Support Services Teacher here at Knapp for grades 4 through 6. This will be my 21st year of teaching. I got my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mild Interventions at Manchester College which is now Manchester University. Upon graduating from Manchester I moved back to Michigan City and taught 7th and 8th grade non-departmentalized at St. Stan's here in Michigan City for 3 years. I then moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where I taught in a self-contained classroom for students with emotional disabilities for 10 years. I met my husband, who is originally from South Bend, in Indianapolis where we lived in Fishers, Indiana. My husband got a job in Valparaiso which allowed us to move up here closer to family. We moved here in 2015 and I started teaching at Knapp. I was a resource teacher the first year and then have been co-teaching each year since. I love pushing into the classroom and working with ALL the students. Besides teaching, my family is very important to me. We have 2 amazing boys, Jaxon is 9 years old and in 4th grade and Connor is 6 years old and is 1st grade this year. I grew up in Michigan City and am very happy to be home and teaching at Knapp which is the school I went to as a child. I am very excited about working with all the amazing groups of students. I have a lot of plans for the school year and I plan to make this a very prosperous year.
