  • Meet the Teacher:

¡Hola! My name is Señorita Koza and I am teaching Spanish II, III, and IV/AP at Michigan City High School. I am a Michigan City alum who decided to come back and continue on as a wolf. I graduated from MCHS and went to Indiana University in Bloomington. Go Hoosiers! While there I received my BA in Spanish Education and was able to experience the life of a true IU basketball fan. While at IU, I studied abroad for a semester in Sevilla, Spain where I lived with a host family and was completely able to immerse myself in the culture. This was a life changing experience that I didn't believe I would ever get to do because of the cost, but I ended up earning scholarships to completely pay for my entire semester abroad which proved that anything was possible. I loved being able to travel around Spain and to other countries while studying something that I love. My passion for Spanish came during my junior year of high school where I discovered that I truly enjoyed learning about Spanish. I was introduced to the cultural aspect of learning a language and the many incredible connections that can be made through speaking the language of other cultures. Outside of the classroom, I also have a passion for coaching gymnastics. I did gymnastics for many many years, and competed for MCHS while I was a student. I also was an assistant coach for the Chesterton Trojans, who are currently back to back state gymnastics champions. Now I am returning to coach the middle and high school gymnastics teams here in City!
