Thank you for visiting my page!  My name is Julie Feikes and I am the Instructional Coach at Springfield Elementary.  I  taught grades 3, 4 and 6 at South Central Elementary.  After being a stay-at-home mom for many years, I have found my forever home at Springfield Elementary.  I am happy to be among the wonderful staff and students here!  Being a part of Michigan City Area Schools is a dream come true!

In the field of Education, I believe...

That every child needs a champion.

That students learn best by being engaged and interested in what they are studying.

That teachers, principals and school staff need to be positive role models for students.

That parents are the first teachers of their children and that they may have the most influence in the direction of their child's education.  

That learning is a life-long process!
