E-Learning Day: Monday, February 18 -- TODAY!

  • Happy Monday, Russelltonians!  Here are today's lessons for you to complete. Your spelling words were sent home with you on Friday or they can be found of Spelling City. We do not have Specials today, BUT there is a Social Studies activity to complete. See you all tomorrow! ~~Mr. Russell

    I can ... answer questions using details from the story.  I can identify homophones and homographs.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Login to Google Classroom to find the reading activity for today. Title:  "2/18/19 - eLearning Answering Questions & Vocabulary "

    2. Read the assigned story 2 times.  After you have read the story answer all the questions, make sure you look back in the story to find your answer. For the short answer questions make sure you answer the questions using text evidence.

    Work to be turned in: Submit your Google Form when done. (30 minutes)


    Read to Self:

    I can read text at grade level to help improve my fluency, comprehension, and stamina. 

    Steps of the lesson:

    1. Find a good book to read.  (Can be one from school or one you have at home)

    2. Find a cozy place to read. 

    3. Read for 25 minutes.

    Work to be turned in: None (25 minutes)



    I can ... become more fluent at spelling my spelling words.  See below for how to find yout spelling words, if you do not have them at home. 

    Steps of the lesson: 

    1. Go to our Google Classroom site.  Find the assignment titled: "2/18/19 - eLearning Spelling UPPER and lower"

    3. You will be typing your spelling words 2 times each.  The first time in all CAPITAL letters and the second time in all lower case letters.  

    How to find your Spelling Words:

    1. Look in your folder from yesterday OR

    2. Find your spelling words on Spelling City. Find the list with your name and click on it.  You do not need to log in to Spelling City, just click on the link. The activity is done on Google Classroom.  If you have trouble, please contact me! 

    Work to be turned in:  When you are finished with your assignment, turn in the Google Doc. (15 minutes)



    I can ... interpret data displayed in a picture graph and bar graph and solve 1 and 2 step story problems. 

    1.  Go to our Google Classroom and open the assignment titled: "2/18/19 - eLearning L.24 & L.25 Review "

    2. Read all the questions and answer them.  Take your time and show your work on scrap paper.  

    Work to be turned in: Submit the Google Form when you are done. (30 minutes)  



    I can ... explain why I want to be President while using complete sentences, correct punctuation, capitalization, and word choice.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1.  Log in to Google Classroom  and open the writing assignment titled: "2/18/19 - eLearning Writing - Presidents' Day"  

    2.  Read your writing prompt. What would you do if you became the president of the United States?  

    3. Brainstorm some ideas that you will write about.

    4.Must include: 3 or more things you would do as President and WHY!, Correct Spelling, correct Punctuation. Must make sense. Must be 3rd Grade work!

    Work to be turned in: When you are done, turn in the Google Doc by clicking "turn in"  Follow all of the directions. (25 minutes)

    Social Studies

    I can ... answer questions about George Washington.

    1.  Go to our Google Classroom and open the assignment titled: "2/18/19 - eLearning Social Studies - George Washington"

    2. Read all the questions and answer them.  

    Work to be turned in: Submit the Google Form when you are done. (15 minutes)  



    I can... participate in iReady lessons designed for my ability.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1.  work 20 minutes in iReady on Math

    2.  work 20 minutes in iReady on Reading
