Meet the Teacher
Hello everyone!! I am Miss Quartuccio, the Art teacher!!!! I also go by Miss Q since everybody has a hard time saying my last name.
It really is an easy pronunciation: Kwar-2-chee-o! This is my third year teaching art and my first year teaching elementary art. It should be quite an interesting adventure, but I am up to the challenge. I was the Environmental Art teacher at Krueger Middle School for the past two years.
I was born and raised here in Michigan City. I attended St. Mary's Grade School from Preschool to 8th Grade, all four years at Michigan City High School. While at MCHS, I was the mascot (Clyde the Wolf) for three years. I graduated from Saint Joseph's College (in Rensselaer, IN) with a Bachelors of Arts in Visual Arts & a Bachelors of Arts in History. After serving two years as a tutor to high school freshmen via the AmeriCorps program, I realized that I wanted to be a teacher. I attended a transition-to-teaching program at Calumet College of St. Joseph's (Whiting, IN). It was first in history, but then my love of art eventually won out!
I am at Marsh Elementary School on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
I am at Pine Elementary School on Wednesdays and Fridays.
I have ClassDojo set up for all my classes at both schools. I will be tracking your children's behavior on that and add that to their behavior grade at the end of each trimester.
I am available anytime after 3 pm, except on Wednesdays when we have our professional development sessions. Emailing me is the best way of communication because I have easier access to a computer or my phone to respond back quickly.
I can not wait to get to know your children and to help them release their creativity!!
