Today's E-Learning Assignments: Monday, February 18, 2019

    It is Monday, so we have Gym and Music today. Click on the links to complete the Gym and Music assignments. Gym: Mr. McKinney   Music: Mrs. Archer

    Math- 4.C.6: Add and subtract mixed numbers with common denominators.  4.NS.6: Write tenths and hundredths in decimal and fraction notations. Know the fraction and decimal equivalents for halves and fourths.

    Assignment: On Google Classroom, click on the two math assignments. One is subtracting mixed numbers, and the other is converting fractions to decimals, and decimals to fractions. Complete the assignments and click "Turn In".

    Work to turn in: I will see the completed assignments online.                            

    Time to complete: about 35 minutes

    Reading- 4.RL.2.2 Paraphrase or retell the main events in a story, myth, legend, or novel; identify the theme and provide evidence for the interpretation.

    Assignments: On Google Classroom, click on the Reading assignment. It is a fable called, "Do What You Can". Read the story and complete the assignment.

    Work to turn in: I will see your completed assignments online.               

    Time to complete: about 30 minutes

    Writing- 4.W.3.3 Write narrative compositions in a variety of forms that: establish an introduction, with a context to allow the reader to imagine the world of the event or experience; organize events that unfold naturally, using meaningful paragraphing and transitional words and phrases; use dialogue and descriptive details to develop events and reveal characters’ personalities, feelings, and responses to situations; employ vocabulary with sufficient sensory details to give clear pictures of ideas and events; provide an ending that follows the narrated experiences or events.

    Assignment: On Google Classroom, click on the Writing assignment. The assignment is to write a narrative about a time you helped someone, and to focus on writing details about the setting of your story. If you are unable to type, you may write the assignment on paper and turn it in. Here are the directions for the assignment:

    Think about a time when you helped someone. Write a narrative about that experience, using specific details to show the setting. Also, explain why you helped the person. Remember: The setting of a story is where and when it takes place. The setting can affect the plot, or events, or a story. The setting also affects the mood, or feeling, of a story.  Requirements: It must be at least 6 sentences, and it must include details of the setting, correct capitalization, and correct punctuation.

    Work to turn in: I will see your completed assignment online, or you will turn in your written paper to me on Tuesday.              

    Time to complete: about 30 minutes

    Science-  SEPS.3 Constructing and performing investigations

    Assignment: On Google Classroom, click on the science assignment about the scientific method, and complete it. You will need to watch a short video on Discovery Science about the scientific method, and complete a Google Form video response.

    Work to turn in: I will see the completed assignment online.                            

    Time to complete: about 25 minutes
