For the families that may not know me yet, my name is Shariann Forker. I am a graduate of Purdue University. Prior to teaching at Lake Hills, I had the great fortune of visiting, observing, and volunteering in various schools across Northwest Indiana for over 15 years. I also worked as a teacher in La Porte for two years. This will be my ninth year here at Lake Hills. I spent three years as a 4th grade teacher, three years teaching 5th grade, and this is my third year teaching 6th grade.
A little bit about me, I live in La Porte with my husband. I have two sons and one granddaughter. Both my boys have graduated from high school in the last four years. Both are continuing their education through trades apprentice programs. My family stays active by taking lots of walks in our neighborhood and we love to walk the trails at local county parks. Our three beagles and one cat are definitely a huge part of our lives. My hobbies are reading, traveling, and drawing. Personally, I love art and hope to bring many wonderful art projects into my lessons when applicable. I believe all students are important and deserve a quality education.
