Hi! My name is Ashley Kohler. I teach Biology I Academic Honors Early College at Michigan City High School. I am a former student of Michigan City High School, and proud to say so!!! I graduated top in my class in 2006. After high school, I attended The University of Illinois on a full athletic scholarship and earned a bachelors degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology (Pre-Medicine). I initially wanted to attend medical school to become a doctor, but I love coaching and teaching and this would not be feasible working in a hospital. I decided to let go of my dreams of becoming a doctor and instead decided to become a teacher. This is the best decision I have ever made. After Illinois, I attended Valparaiso University where I earned my Masters Degree in Education. While I was going to school at Valparaiso University, I was the Graduate Assistant Volleyball Coach. I have been teaching at Michigan City High School since January 2012. I was previously the volleyball coach but no longer coach because I am busy living my amazing life with my husband and our two kiddos. Michigan City High School is an amazing school and I would not want to teach anywhere else!!
