  • Meet the Marine Corps Junior ROTC Instructors
    Major Tom McGrath enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1975 and was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1979.  He served 20 years on active duty and 2.5 years on active reserve.  He and his wife Barbara have been married for 27 years and have 5 children. Major McGrath earned a B.A. degree in Communications from Rhode Island College and an M.A. degree in Human Resource Development from Webster University.

    Master Sergeant Jeff Benak enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in February 1986.  He served over 25 years of active duty and retired November 2011.  While on active duty Master Sergeant Benak was hired as a Marine Corps Junior ROTC instructor in August of 2011 and is in his tenth year at Michigan City High School. He and his wife Michele have been married for 32 years and currently live in Osceola, IN with their daughter Lyndsey.  Master Sergeant Benak has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University (Magna Cum Laude). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hQ7tgSg4aRYEBr80bIDXvh1Zgzjht1dn/view.  Click on this link to view the introduction.
