Welcome to Miss Dydo's website and my class's Educational Journey!

My name is Angela Dydo.  I am a graduate of Purdue University.  I am a  Student Support Service teacher at the amazing Coolspring Elementary.  I have been teaching in Michigan City Area Schools since 2004. Before coming to Michigan City I have taught Special Education at the high school level.    During my time in Michigan City, I have enjoyed working with the students and their families. There is definitely a sense of pride and community.

In the 2017-18 school year, I have the great honor of participating in the Co-Teaching model.  I have the honor of going in the general education setting to work and support students.  I enjoy working with the fabulous general education teachers.  There is certainly pride in the learning taking place.  The students are on their educational journey to reach thier full potential.  I can honestly say that amazing things are happening with learning!!!

  • Miss Dydo's Biography

I grew up in LaPorte.  I attended New Prairie school from grade school thru high school.  I graduated in 1996.  During high school, I was on the swim team. My favorite race to swim was the 500 freestyle.  This long race helped me develop the skills of endurance and patience.  It was a long race, 10 laps!

After high school, I attended Purdue University in West Lafayette.  I studies Elementary Ed and Special Education.  I also worked for Whirlpool Corporation and Fed EX as a delivery driver.  I enjoyed my time at Purdue University.  I graduated in 2001.

After graduating, I taught Special Education at Eastern High School in Greentown which is by Kokomo, Indiana.

In 2004, I retuned to Northwest Indiana to teach in Michigan City.  I am glad I returned.  I have been teaching Special Education self contained classroom ever since 2004 in Michigan City Area Schools.  During this time, I have worked with many wonderful students and their supportive families.  I have enjoyed working with my students as they travel on their educational journey!
