    The Modern Machine Technology class offers an introduction to shop safety, industry terminology, machine tools, measurement and layout. Includes laboratory exercises to begin project completion of turning, milling, drilling, and grinding applications.

     
  • Meet the Teacher
     
     

    I am the Precision Machining instructor at the A.K. Smith Career Center in Michigan City. I was born and raised in La Porte, Indiana. I attended the Ivy Tech campus in South Bend to study Industrial Technology with a concentration on precision machining. I have 20 years experience in the precision machining and manufacturing industry. As a machinist, my machining experience came from being employed by machine shops involved with the aerospace & manufacturing industry. My interests are spending quality time with my family, fishing, traveling, bicycle riding, and watching sports. I also enjoy learning about history and new technologies in manufacturing!
