Construction Technology I
2 Semesters, 6 Credits
Grade Level: 10-12Construction Technology I is for the student interested in the construction industry. Practical experience will be accomplished through the building of residential construction. Experiences may be in areas of carpentry, plumbing, heating, masonry, drywall, roofing, insulation, electricity, interior decorating, and finishing. Students will also have the experience of working with other contractors. Through this program, students will be able to understand the requirements of home ownership as well as the maintenence.
Construction Technology II
2 Semesters, 6 Credits
Grade Level: 11-12Construction Technology II is designed to teach the students leadership while enhancing their skills. Students can concentrate in an area of interest and develop their skills in preparation for an apprenticeship program. Second year students who exhibit quality work ethic, attendance, and attitude may participate in an extended lab program.

Articulation Agreements: Purdue CalumetThanks to a partnership with the Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters, A.K. Smith Construction students who complete required coursework can receive direct entry into the Carpenters' Apprenticeship program, shortening the apprenticeship by one year!
