    Meet the Teacher
     We have a very busy and exciting school year in store for us!  Let me first introduce myself.  I am Leanne Rogers and this will be my 17th year teaching.  I have taught first grade for four years and this is my 13th year teaching second grade. I live in Michigan City with my husband, Chris, our children, Ethan and Ava, and our little dog, Puffy.

    I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility.  I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivational learning experience in my classroom.  However, I cannot do this alone; I am asking for your help.  We need to be partners in your child’s learning process.  Please encourage your child to read at home each night and help them complete their daily assignments.

    Establishing good classroom discipline is essential to each child's success, confidence and well-being.  Every child should feel that the classroom environment is safe and secure.  In addition, it is important that each child learn to develop self- discipline and good working habits, to resolve conflicts peacefully, and to think independent.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
