Students at all schools are now required to wear khaki, black, gray or navy pants/shorts/skirts and white, blue, black, or gray shirts. All clothing should be sized appropriately for the student; oversized and tight-fitting clothing is not permitted.
Goals of the “Dress for Success” program include building school spirit, emphasizing academics, and fostering a sense of pride among students. The new dress code has been designed with a goal of keeping clothing options simple and affordable.
Many local retailers and online vendors offer a wide selection of the clothing required in the “Dress for Success” dress code. Local stores that carry this clothing include: Bags Etc. (1902 Washington), Big R, Carters Outlet, J. C. Penney, Lakeshore Convenience (1002 Franklin), Meijer, Old Navy Outlet, Osh Kosh Outlet, Sears, Scotty's Dynamic Designs (3404 Franklin), The Spot (2321 E. Michigan Blvd.), Tommy Hilfiger Outlet, Vanity Fair Outlet, and Walmart. Goodwill and the Salvation Army have also been notified of the schools’ plans, so that they can assist shoppers looking for “dress for success” bargains.
