    Dunes Arts Foundation Acting Classes
    Youth 8 to 12, Tues. and Thurs. 10-Noon CST
    Teens 13 to 18, Mon. and Wed. 10-Noon CST
    Classes run from July 1st with Student Showcase on August 5th

    Tito Sanchez-Williams, a graduate of the New School of Drama in NYC with a Master of Fine Arts in Acting, returns this summer to teach our Youth and Teen Acting Classes. In these 5-week, fun-packed courses, young actors will learn skills to help them listen, focus, and find their inner voice. During this summer program, your young actor can develop their creative abilities, learn teamwork required for performing, vocal projection, articulation, timing, improve their listening and memorization skills, confidence and grace. The summer culminates in a showcase celebrating your young actor's new found talents.
    Each class is limited to 12 students, so reserve your spot early.
     
    Indiana Sheriff's Association Youth Leadership Camp
    The Indiana Sheriff's Association (ISA) will be celebrating their 40th Annual Indiana Sheriffs' Association Youth Leadership Camp!
    There will be two camp sessions this year. The first session will be held June 25- 28 at Pine Creek Camp in Pine Village, Indiana (Warren County), serving the northern part of the state. The second session will be held July 9-11 serving the southern part of the state at Waycross Episcopal Camp in Morgantown, Indiana (Brown County).
    The Indiana Sheriffs' Association Youth Leadership Camp is a program provided by the ISA for boys and girls who are currently in the 7th or 8th grade of school and are interested in learning more about a possible career in law enforcement. The camp provides a very meaningful experience as well as relationships with other campers from throughout the state and sheriff’s deputies who serve as counselors and instructors.
     
    Any boy or girl in the 7th or 8th grade of school interested in attending the camp should contact the Captain Derek J. Allen (219-326-7700, ext. 2283 / dallen@lcso.in.gov), one of the school resource officers, or your school counselor for an application and additional information.
      
    LaPorte Municipal Airport Aviation Camp
    Aviation Camp for students entering grades 6th - 12th next school years.
    Cost:  $50
    Date:  June 10 - 14, 2019
    What's included:
    - All students receive a flight from a local pilot
    - Speakers include an aeronautical engineer, airline pilot, and reaper/predator drone operator.
    - Classes in aerodynamics
    - Field Trip

    Michigan City Public Library - Poetry Slam Camp 2019
    Grades 5-8, June 17-21
    Register and join this fun, week-long camp for middle-school-aged kids! Purdue Northwest and the library collaborate on programming and activities including writing, performance and video-making.  Call 219-873-3049 for more information and how to register!  Registration is only $5 and waivers are available.     Michigan City Police Youth Leadership Academy
    From June 24 through June 28, the 2019 MCPD Youth Leadership Academy will be a fun and inspiring week that will help to motivate each participant to take their place as leaders among their peers. High energy activities, positive reinforcement, and confidence building programs will be the common thread throughout the activities of the week.     Michigan City Yacht Club Sailing Programs

    South Shore Nautical Education Foundation, Inc., located at Washington Park Marina, offers a sailing school for children ages 8 and older. We have two youth programs which include youth racing and youth day camp. The youth racing is held 5PM-7PM on Tuesdays for 4 weeks, and is tailored to teach the fundamentals of racing. The summer day camp is designed to emphasize the fun of sailing.     Safe Harbor Summer Camp
    This year's camp for students entering grades 1-6 is being held on Mondays thru Fridays from June 11 thru July 20 at Knapp Elementary School. Activities include field trips, swimming, art, daily athletics, nature exploration, and more! For more information, download the flyer below.

    Salvation Army Summer Camp (Little Pine Island)
    The Salvation Army of Michigan City (1201 S. Franklin Street Michigan City, IN) offers FREE summer camps for students of all ages at its camp in Michigan. Programs include outdoor adventure, sports, music, teen, and high adventure camps and occur intermittently throughout the summer. (NOTE: Although the registration date has passed, there are still plenty of spots available! Call for information - 219.874.6885)
