    Boys & Girls Club of La Porte County 2023 Summer Camp
    FREE summer camp at the Charles R. Westcott Club in Michigan City.
    Camp runs from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday (June 12 - July 21)
    This program is open to children who are in kindergarten through 8th grade during the 2022/2023 school year. Due to high demand, we ask that all registered members attend an average of at least three days per week.

    Monday, May 1 - Pre-registration opens at 8:00 AM for all 2022/2023 school year Club members and 2022 Summer Club members
    Wednesday, May 3 - Pre-registration opens at 8:00 AM for all other families
    Dunes Summer Theatre Youth Theatre Camps
    Creative Drama and Play Creation: Mondays and Wednesdays 1-3pm, June 12-28, Ages 8-12
    Intro to Musical Theatre: Mondays and Wednesdays 1-3pm, July 10-26, Ages 8-12
    Youth Theatre Mentoring Program: 6 sessions from June 1 - Aug 20, Ages 13+
    Camps take place at 288 Shady Oak Drive, Michiana Shores
    $200 per student for each camp; scholarships available for students with financial need.

    Leadership LaPorte County Summer Leadership Camp
    Open to La Porte County students who will be entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade
    Monday, July 31– Thursday, August 3
    9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.
    Creekridge County Park, Novak Shelter, 7943 W. County Rd. 400 N., Michigan City
    Cost: Free! 
    The purpose of the camp is to develop leadership, problem-solving, and team building skills.

    A wide variety of summer classes and programs for ages 7 and up!
    Manufacturing Summer Camp
    Open to MCAS students entering grades 7, 8, and 9
    Monday through Friday, June 5-9
    8:00am - 3:00pm
    Includes breakfast & lunch
    Location: A. K. Smith Career Center (817 Lafayette Street, Michigan City) 
    Students will be exposed to career and technical programs offered at the A.K. Smith Career Center and will learn about the exciting world of manufacturing. Areas of focus will include manufacturing, welding, construction, and electronics & energy.  Students will participate in hands-on activities and will create projects with the skills they learn in each of the fields. They will also compile a portfolio that contains pictures of their projects for the week.  At the end of the week, students will tour a local business to learn how the manufacturing process works in the real world. Students will also use the Indiana Career Explorer online tool to create a career profile for their future careers.

    Michigan City "City Kids" Day Camp
    Location: Lake Hills Elementary School, 201 Ferguson Road
    Dates: Monday through Friday, June 5th through July 28th
    (no camp on Monday, June 19 or Tuesday, July 4)
    Times: 8 am to 3 pm
    Cost: $55 per student per week, or $35 per week for summer school students (1/2 day of camp)

    Michigan City Police Department Youth Leadership Academy
    Open to students entering grades 6, 7, and 8
    June 19-23 (Monday-Friday)
    8:30am - 3:30pm
    Location: Michigan City Police Dept. (1201 E. Michigan Blvd.)
    This program will teach leadership and team-building with the purpose of identifying future leaders of our community. The academy will introduce participants to careers in public service, develop leadership skills, and promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Participants will be encouraged to embrace diversity and will take part in community service to emphasize the benefits of good citizenship. The academy will provide a fun and safe environment for participants to engage with local community role models. 
    (Applications are also available at Barker, Krueger, MCHS, and the MC Police Dept.)

    Purdue University Northwest (PNW) Youth Summer Programs

    PNW is offering a wide range of summer programs for middle and high school students interested in nursing, robotics, and STEM fields. 
    Programs include: Tech & Business, Engineering & Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Health Sciences
    Options are available at the Westville and Hammond locations.
