    The goal in music class is the exploration of music and how it relates to other subjects and the many cultures that influence the wonderful world of music we live in today.
  • Meet the Teacher
     
    I have been with the Michigan City Area School since 1995.   During my time with MCAS I have taught elementary music, middle school choir, middle school band, middle school general music, and middle school drama. At Krueger Middle School constantly my choirs earned a gold rating in choral organization contest and students excelled at Solo and Ensemble contest.  I earned my degrees at Butler University (BS in Arts Administration and Masters in Music Education), at Purdue/Calumet (School Counseling), and at Indiana Wesleyan University (School Administration).  In college my principle instrument was Clarinet with a minor in Voice.  Still very active singing and dancing with The Company out of Mishawaka, IN, every summer with the Michigan City Municipal Band  (where I was a featured soloist on clarinet performing the 3rd movement of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto), Windiana a professional wind band out of Valparaiso University ( We selected and performed at Pearl Harbor for the 75th Anniversary in December 2016 of the devistaing attack by Japan),LaPorte Community Band and the Twin Cities Band.  I have also participate in many instrumental and choral performances with Butler University Jordan College of the Fine Arts.  Recently, I was selected in 2017as a member of the National Community Band with members from throughtout the United States in Indianapolis on the campus of Butler University.
