• Welcome to Art Class

I am Ms. Cochran Art Instructor at Coolspring School. This is my 38th year here at Coolspring School. All classes Kindergarten through sixth grade receive one hour of art instruction a week. I rotate between two themes for the year, architecture and famous artists. This school year 2018-2019 the thyme is Architecture. Students are read Frank Lloyd Wright for Kids, learn about John Lloyd Wright the architect of the first Coolspring School and do achitectural related projects, for the fourth, fifth and six grade students.

We offer an Art Club at Coolspring School. At different times of the year different grade levels have the opportunity to stay after school with me a do an art project that would not be able to created in a regular class session because of time, complexity or number of students in the class. When these opportunities arise, I send a note home in the Wednesday communication folders with the student. I stay connected to parents of Dojo.
Any time you visit Coolspring School you will see student artwork hanging in the halls and in the show cases. In the spring however, the student’s art work is in a special exhibit displayed at the school during the Coolspring Fine Arts Night and also at the Elementary Art show at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts. Also when you visit school, check out our own Sistine Chapel. Students have painted the ceiling in the Art room, cafeteria and the library.
Students in Kindergarten through fourth grade will receive Social and Emothional skills classes directed by myself, Mrs. Gast, and Mrs. Zborowsk.
