In grading period 1, we will  focus on a unit called The Choices We Make.  This unit introduces the year-long focus on choices, using a variety of genres to investigate this theme.

 

In grading period 2, we will focus on a unit called What Influences My Choices?  In this unit, you will analyze print, visual, and film texts that are common in the media and advertising.

 

In grading period 3, we will focus on a unit called Choices and Consequences.  In this unit, you will explore how decisions can have far-reaching consequences that determine your character, values, and contribution to society.

 

In grading period 4, we will focus on a unit called How we Choose to Act.  In this unit, you will discover that writers make choices about their use of language based on their intended effect.
