In my CREW class, we have started the year with a ONE WORD CHALLENGE.  The purpose of this activity is for students to choose one specific word that will guide them throughout the year as they make decisions, pursue goals, and work to create the life that they want to live.  The word may also be a personal quality or trait they feel they need to work on during the year.  The final piece of this activity should be a computer background that they create with their word displayed across their screens.  My word is ACCEPTANCE.  CREW meets every morning from 7:25 until 8:00am, and we do many different activities throughout the year.  It is not a graded class, but the expectation is that we all participate and get along and feel that CREW is a safe place for us.
