There are many types of rewards in the classroom. Students will receive notes, awards, pencils, stickers, praise, etc. for their accomplishments. I try to always keep a positive atmosphere in the classroom because having good behavior is hard work and is expected. We are using a program called, DOJO, this school year. Students earn points for positive behavior in class. They can use their points to earn rewards or participate in fun activities that are planned on Friday afternoons.
This doesn’t happen often, but when someone forgets to follow our classroom rules, there are consequences for their actions. Students can lose a DOJO point when they make poor decisions in class. Classroom time outs are also used and for extreme cases students are sent to the EAP room for a time out away from the class.
