I am so pleased to be starting a new year, and I am very excited to be a part of your child's education. I know that last year was a challenge for us all. I know that this year may provide its challenges also. We can do this! I changed my role after several years in the classroom last year. It included going back to college to achieve my goal of a Master's Degree! Over the summer I took two more classes and I am ready to implement the new ideas this year.I am officially half way through my Masters! I am co-teaching in 5th and 6th grade. The teams and I have worked together to develop a great school year.

    Welcome to 2020-2021!
  • Meet the Teacher:
My name is Erin Lozano!  I began my teaching adventure at Niemann Elementary School. After two years, I moved to Mullen Elementary, and now we are in our new building! I have taught fourth grade, second grade, third grade and  fifth grade. I am currently enrolled in my Masters Degree through Purdue University Hammond. This summer I finished two more courses. That makes me half way through my degree.  I am married to Eduardo Lozano and we have three children. Our oldest son  is 25 years old, my daughter is 11 and my youngest son is 6 years old. I am a Michigan City native. I was born and raised here and I truly enjoy being part of this community. I have attended many workshops on our new ELA program EL! Science is my favorite subject! I find that kids truly become motivated with science.
