    Media Literacy- CNN 10 Student News

    Lesson Description

    1. Watch the link for CNN 10 on Google Classroom. No need to take notes since we won't have a quiz this week.

    1. Read over your Intolerance Log. How do you think it would have felt if you were a white child living during this time?  How do you think it would have felt if you were an African American child living during this time? Write your responses on the Personal Narrative Brainstorm sheet sent home in the Cyberguide.

    2. You will be writing a personal narrative from the point of view of a child living during the Civil Rights Movement. Complete the rest of the Personal Narrative Brainstorm sheet. Decide if you will be writing the narrative through the eyes of a white or African American child and list 3-5 actions or events you may have experienced during that time period.

    3. Use your Personal Narrative Brainstorm sheet to write a personal narrative about your life as a child during the Civil Rights Movement. Be sure to include the events you experienced, and how those events made you feel.

    4. The personal narrative must include: background information about yourself and your family, at least 3 events you have experienced and how those events affected you, and be at minimum five paragraphs.

    5. Work to be submitted for a grade: Civil Rights Movement Personal Narrative- Due Wednesday, April 22
