1st Grade Reading Assignments:
Note: Materials that will help your child with the video could be the alphabet chart or letter cards that were sent home, a dry erase board or pencil and paper. Student can use one of these materials to help identify and write letters and words.
Reading: I can use knowledge of letter sounds to decode one syllable words. I can identify ending sounds.
Watch instructional video: There are 2 videos for Review and today's lesson Words with -ff, -ll, -ss, -zz.
Complete the attached Double consonant assignment. Use the picture to sound out the word, add the correct ending sound for -ff, -ss, -ll, or-zz.
Work to be turned in – Double Consonant assignment: Submit on Google Classroom.
3rd Grade Reading Assigments:
** All assignments can be found on the Google Class Page for 3rd Grade Mrs. Richardson.
Reading: I can respond to questions about text. I can identify main idea and locate key details.
Watch instructional video on reading of History of the Chocolate Chip Cookie.
Complete Chocolate Chip Cookie Quiz on Google Classroom. Click Submit.
Writing: I can use proper spelling conventions in my writing.
Read the attached list of Spelling Words.
Write each word 3x each. May submit on paper or type with Google Docs form.
Work to be turned in:
Reading – Submit Chocolate Chip Cookie Quiz Quiz on Google Classroom
Writing – Submit to teacher or on Google Classroom.
Extra Practice:
TYPING assignment: Go to Google Classroom.

Click on Blue Student Login button in upper right corner.
Look below username box to find option to Login in with Google Account.
Enter student's school username/password.
-Spend 15 mins. practice.

Accessing Google Classroom
Click on Google Classroom/Login
Select 3rd Grade Reading - Mrs. Richardson
Your child will need to do the following to access Google Classroom from home. (Please make sure all other Google accounts are closed first, if you have any.)
Your child will need to type in their username@mcas.k12.in.us (Example: jsmith@mcas.k12.in.us)
The password is the student's 7-digit student ID #. It's the same number that the students use to log into the computers at school.
*How do I access iReady?
1. Go to the Michigan City Area Schools Website
2. Click on Learning Place
3. Click on Clever/Login
The students will need to login using their regular username and password that is used to log into the computers at school
