    Today’s ELA Work Checklist (90 minutes to complete)

    I can… Write routinely over a variety of time frames and for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audiences; apply reading standards to support reflection and response to literature and nonfiction texts. (5.W.1)

    I can... Explain how an author uses reasons and evidence to support claims in a text, identifying which reasons and evidence support which claims. (5.RN.4.1)

    1. 9:10 a.m In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Morning Check-in. We will start each morning in Google Meet. We will post the meeting code in this assignment. If you miss the live video, watch the video and comment with the answer to today’s morning message. This will be your attendance check-in for the day. (10-15 mins)
    2. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Instruction Video: Wrapping up your Opinion Essay. Watch the Screencastify video. In this video, we will explain and model writing the final part of your opinion essay. the conclusion. We will also go over the directions for your assessment: Writing an Opinion Essay.
    3. AFTER watching the instruction video, open your Drafting an Opinion Essay doc that you started on Monday of this week. You will find this in your Google Drive. Type your conclusion here and then use this doc to help you put together your final essay. 
    4. Begin your final opinion essay. You will find this in Google Classroom. The assignment is called Final Opinion Essay. You will type all of your pieces together in one final essay. Your final essay is due this Friday March 27, 2020.
    5. independent Reading - In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Timer. Set a timer for 20 minutes and read your AR book. After you have read for 20 minutes, write a letter in your Reading Response Letter packet. It should be Letter #6. Record your text title and a summary of your reading for the day. This should be AT LEAST 1 paragraph. (30 mins)
    6. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Hoot read aloud. Listen to the chapter being read aloud. 
    7. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Hoot Chapter 13. Complete and submit the Google Form. (10 mins)

    Today’s Math Work Checklist (40 minutes to complete)

    I can... Find the volume of a right rectangular prism with whole-number side lengths by packing it with unit cubes, and show that the volume is the same as would be found by multiplying the edge lengths or multiplying the height by the area of the base. (5.M.4)

    1. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Math Instruction Video: Understand Volume. Watch the Screencastify video. In the video, we will introduce our new learning target and walk you through the introduction part of the lesson. Complete page 254-255 in your Math Instruction books as you watch the video. (20 mins)
    2. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Google Form: Math Introduction. Complete the Google Form and submit when finished. (20 mins)

    1. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Check-In Week 2 Day 3. Complete the Google Form and submit when finished. This will be your attendance check-in for the day. (5 mins)
    2. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Grammar Corrections. Complete the Google Form and submit when finished, correcting all spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammatical errors. (20 mins)
    3. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Read Aloud Chapter 16. Watch the video and listen to the story. Then complete the Google Form and submit when finished. (30 mins)

    I can... Understand solving an equation or inequality is the process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true? Use substitution to determine whether a given number in a specified set makes an equation or inequality true. (6.AF.4)

    I can... Write an inequality of the form x > c, x ≥ c, x < c, x ≤ c, where c is a rational number, to represent a constraint or condition in a real-world or other mathematical problem. Recognize that inequalities have infinitely many solutions and represent solutions on a number line diagram. (6.AF.6)
