    Today’s ELA Work Checklist (90 minutes to complete)

    I can… Write routinely over a variety of time frames and for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audiences; apply reading standards to support reflection and response to literature and nonfiction texts. (5.W.1)

    I can... Explain how an author uses reasons and evidence to support claims in a text, identifying which reasons and evidence support which claims. (5.RN.4.1)

    1. 9:10 a.m In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Morning Check-in. We will start each morning in Google Meet. We will post the meeting code in this assignment. If you miss the live video, watch the video and comment with the answer to today’s morning message. This will be your attendance check-in for the day. (10-15 mins)
    2. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Instruction Video: Drafting Proof Paragraphs 1 and 2. Watch the Screencastify video. In this video, we will lead and model drafting the proof paragraphs for your opinion essay. (20 mins)
    3. AFTER watching the instruction video, open your Drafting an Opinion Essay doc that you started working on yesterday. You will find this in your Google Drive. This doc will be used to type in each part of your essay over the next several days. Today, type Proof Paragraph 1 and Proof Paragraph 2. (30 mins)
    4. Independent Reading- In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Timer. Set a timer for 20 minutes and read your AR book. After you have read for 20 minutes, write a letter in your Reading Response Letter packet. It should be Letter #7. Record your text title and a summary of your reading for the day. This should be AT LEAST 1 paragraph. Upload a picture of your letter in SeeSaw. (30 mins)
    5. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Hoot Read Aloud Chapter 12. Listen to the chapter being read aloud. (17 mins)
    6. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Hoot Chapter 12. Complete the Google Form and submit when finished. (10 mins)

    I can…Understand and use measures of center (mean and median) and frequency (mode), to describe a data set. (5.DS.2)

    1. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Google Form: Independent Practice. Complete the Google Form and submit when finished. (20 mins)
    2. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Google Form: Lesson 23B Quiz. Complete the Google Form and submit when finished. (20 mins)

    1. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Check-In Week 2 Day 2. Complete and submit the Google Form. This will be your attendance check-in for the day. (5 mins)
    2. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Powerpoint Project. Watch the video. Then work on your Powerpoint project, which will be due when we finish our read aloud for Making Bombs for Hitler. (45 mins)
    3. In Google Classroom, click on the assignment called Writing Persuasive Essay (Your "Golden" Packet). Complete pages 8-9 about making declarations. If you are unable to type in the packet, you can type your answers in a Google Doc and share it with us. (30 mins)

    Today's Math Work Checklist (30 minutes to complete)

    I can... Understand solving an equation or inequality is the process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true? Use substitution to determine whether a given number in a specified set makes an equation or inequality true. (6.AF.4)

    I can... Write an inequality of the form x > c, x ≥ c, x < c, x ≤ c, where c is a rational number, to represent a constraint or condition in a real-world or other mathematical problem. Recognize that inequalities have infinitely many solutions and represent solutions on a number line diagram. (6.AF.6)

    1. Complete pages 249-250 in your Math Practice and Problem Solving books. You will turn this in when we return to school on May 4th. (30 mins)
