    Reading

      Steps of the Lesson:

      1.  Go to google classroom. Click on classwork tab. Go to the e- learning 3/24/2020 section. 

      2. Click on the Reading Ready Book pg. 353 assignment. 

      3. Today you are going to read two history texts about the invention of the telephone. Read 2x. Once to understand the text. The second time to gather information from both sources.

      As you read ask yourself these questions:
      Who were Bell and Gray?
      Why did Bell and Gray invent the telephone at the same time?
      Why do most people credit Bell with inventing the telephone?

      The second time go back and underline in the details in the text about both inventors, such as who they were, the main thing they did, and why they did it. 

      4. Complete chart.

      Work to be turned in: (Google doc with chart and short response) (30-40 minutes)

      I can... Introduce a topic; organize sentences and paragraphs logically, using an organizational form that suits the topic

      1. After you fill in the chart on pg. 353 of the Reading Ready book, use the information to write a paragraph and explain who Bell and Gray were, the main thing each man did, and why they did it.

      Work to be turned in: (short response ) (20-30 minutes)
