    Reading

    20 minutes:

     

    I CAN STATEMENTS:

    I can recognize upper and lowercase letters.

    I can identify letter sounds.

    I can identify the beginning sounds of words.

    I can identify the important text-based facts from this book

    I can identify the difference between mammals and reptiles

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1.   Please open up the document Find the ending ...If you can not print the document copy answers onto another sheet of paper
    2. Read to/with someone for 20 minutes.  Write down the title of all books read.
    3. (If you do not have books at home, go to getepic.com and enter class code:lzv8456 to read books online.)  Or you may also go to https://www.storylineonline.net/  Draw a picture of your favorite part of one of the books.

      1. Practice reading sight words from the flashcards previously sent home. 

     

    TO TURN IN:

    Writing (20 minutes):

    I CAN STATEMENTS:

    I can write a true story using letter sounds and sight words.

    I can draw a picture to illustrate my story.

    I can practice spacing my words and using punctuation in my sentences.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Watch this video first:  How to Catch a Leprechaun
    2. Write about how you would catch a leprechaun: Be sure to draw a picture and then use your sounds and sight words to write your story.  (Parents-you may help students sound out their words, but please don’t tell them how to spell everything.)  Make sure to practice spacing your words and use punctuation at the end of your sentences.

     

    TO TURN IN: A 2-3 sentence story with an illustration.

    Math

     

    (30 minutes):

    I CAN STATEMENTS:

    *I can create groups of tens and ones using objects to represent numbers from 10-20.

    *I can create groups of tens and ones using drawings to represent numbers from 10-20.

     

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Look at WB Page 136 in your math book..Complete the number bond 
    2. Look at Pages 197 - 198 in your binder and complete the number bond math pages.
