E-Learning - March 19, 2020

    3. I sent home a packet on the last day of school before extended e-learning began. If you have that packet, please read the stapled papers labeled Section 11.1, DNA: The Molecule of Heredity. If you do not have that packet, I have linked the reading in Google Classroom. If you open the link, you will have to scroll to page 114. It will be pages 114-116 in this online link. As you read through this packet, please answer the questions on the attached Google Document. When you are finshed, please turn in your answers through the Google assignment.


    Work to be turned in:  Answers to questions in Google Document submitted through Google Classroom.

    3. If you have not already done so, please study section 8-7 in your textbook (p. 276-278). This is the section for which I gave you notes yesterday. When you are done studying, please play the attached Purpose Game. It is a multiple choice quiz to help you study this section. When you are happy with your score, please open up the Google Form and fill out your score information.

    AP Biology

    I can...explain how the cell cycle is regulated.  I can describe how cdks work in regulating the cell cycle.  I also can differentiate between oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes.

    2.  Click on the E-Learning Assignment entitled: E-learning Assignment - March 19, 2020. 

    3. Please watch the attached video, which is my notes over cell regulation. Then please make a Flipgrid using the attached link. For this Flipgrid, please record how you are doing in class so far. Please leave questions over material, anything you would like to go over again so far, or anything that you thought was really cool in the material. Also, let me know how you are doing with "social distancing". Note: I likened oncogenes to the gas pedal in your car being stuck down. I forgot to use this analogy for tumor suppressor genes. These genes make proteins that act as breaks. When they are turned off, it is like the brakes are broken and the cell can no longer stop growing and dividing.
