    Friday, March 20, 2020

    ***Whole Class Google Meet for CREW is at 1:30 pm.  Please be on time and we will begin reading the Julian Chapter from Auggie and Me for CREW and Second Steps.

    ***We will post two math Google Meet times for students who need more help with Math from the week.

     

    Reading

    I can: Read a book at my level for 20 minutes and complete a 2-3 sentence summary of what I read today.

    I can: Go to my iReady learning pathway and complete lessons for 45 minutes or more with a pass rate of 80% or better to meet my specific learning needs.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Read a book for 20 minutes.

    2. Log into Google Classroom and select the March 16, 2020 weekly reading log.  Complete today's entry with title, author, page numbers read and 2-3 sentence summary.  It is Friday so turn this in today!

    3.  Go to Clever and log into iReady and choose your reading pathway to complete your auto assigned lessons.

    4. Finish any work from the beginning of the week.

    Work to be turned in:

    1.  Reading log entry.

    2. iReady minutes

    3. Anything that needed to still be turned in from Monday to Thursdays work.

    Writing

    I can:  Follow any edits Mrs. P made and turn in my informative essay.

    I can: Show proficiency with my List 21 Spelling Words by taking a spelling test in Spelling City.

     Steps of the Lesson:

    1.  Go to Google Classroom and click on your doc.  Look for any edit suggestions and take care of them according to your preferences as the author.

    2. Go to my Learning Place and click on Spelling City.  Choose list 21 and Spelling Test Me.  Either screen shot your score and send it to me through Google Hangouts or let me know when you are done so I can look in Go Guardian.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Informative Essay in Classroom.

    2. Spelling Test List 21 in Spelling City.

     

    Math

    I can: Practice my basic facts on Moby Fact Fluency.

    I can: Show proficiency with understanding volume and calculating volume with unit cubes.

    I can: Complete my 45 minutes of my iReady Math learning pathway with a passing rate of 80% or better to meet my specific learning needs.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Clever and click Moby.  Go to Fact Fluency and complete your 5 minutes.

    2. Log into Google Classroom and complete the two math quizzes in Google Forms for Lessons 24 and 25.

    3. Log into Clever and click iReayd.  Go to your math learning pathway to complete your minutes.

    Work to be turned in:

    1.  Moby Fact Fluency
    2.  Lessons 24 and 25 math quizzes in Google Forms
    3. iReady math minutes

    Social Studies

    I can: Finish my social studies work from the rest of the week on the American Revolution.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Google Classroom.

    2. Click on Classword at the very top and then click on Social Studies on the left side of the screen.

    3.  Check all of your assignments for social studies from March 16 to March 19 to make sure they are all done.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Any work from the beginning of the week that still needed to be completed.

    3.  Complete pages 386-387 in your Ready Reading instruction book this includes the written response questions too. Then go to Google Classroom and insert pictures of those pages completed.

    Work to be turned in:

    1.  Reading log entry.

    2. Google Doc for pictures of Ready Reading pages.

    Writing

    I can:  Use my prewrite and source to write the conclusion to restate my introduction and request an edit with Mrs. P through Google Hangouts.

     Steps of the Lesson:

    1.  Reread what you wrote yesterday and the article provide.  Write your conclusion to your essay.  We are continuing to use the same Doc as yesterday, "Writing for the Week of March 16".  DO NOT TURN IT IN until Friday. 

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Conclusion paragraph for your essay.

    2. Google Doc for sentences.

    Math

    I can: Practice my basic facts on Moby Fact Fluency.

    I can: Watch the video reminder and practice using unit cubes and the area of the base to calculate volume of a rectangular prism.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Clever and click Moby.  Go to Fact Fluency and complete your 5 minutes.

    2. Log into Google Classroom to watch the video for lesson 25 and complete in your instruction book with the video pages 264-267.

    3. Complete practice and problem solving pages 285-286. Take pictures of completed work and insert into the provided Doc in Google Classroom. 

    Work to be turned in:

    1.  Moby Fact Fluency
    2.  Pages 285-286 by taking a picture and inserting the pictures to the Google Classroom Doc.

    Social Studies

    I can: Show my proficiency on understanding the American Revolution by completing a Google Form Quiz.

    1. Use Unit 4 to answer the questions on the American Revolution.  The questions will go in order from lesson 1 to lesson 8.

    I can:  Use my prewrite and source to write three body paragraphs to support my thesis statement.

    I can: Write complete sentences using my spelling words from list 21 on Spelling City. These words are homophones so they sound the same but look different and have different meanings.

     Steps of the Lesson:

    1.  Reread what you wrote yesterday and the article provide.  Write three body paragraphs supported with text evidence to inform your mom how to take care of your new pet goat.  We are continuing to use the same Doc as yesterday, "Writing for the Week of March 16".  DO NOT TURN IT IN until Friday. 

    3. Go to Mrs. Palleschi's Learning Place tab on her website and click on spelling city list 21 to get your words then go to Google Classroom and find the assignment "Sentences for Spelling List 21" to write one sentence for each word.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Body paragraphs for your essay.

    2. Google Doc for sentences.

    Math

    I can: Practice my basic facts on Moby Fact Fluency.

    I can: Watch the video to teach lesson 25 which is volume with unit cubes.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Clever and click Moby.  Go to Fact Fluency and complete your 5 minutes.

    2. Log into Google Classroom to watch the video for lesson 25 and complete in your instruction book with the video pages 260-263.

    3. Complete practice and problem solving pages 283-284. Take pictures of completed work and insert into the provided Doc in Google Classroom.

    Social Studies

    *** Mr. R and I will be hosting a Google Meet at 10:30am for the whole class to join and ask questions about how to turn work in and any questions you may have forgotten to ask yesterday.  You can even ask questions about a specific assignment.  Plus, we will continue to review our guidelines and procedures for a respectful online learning environment.

     Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Google Classroom. There will be a video reviewing RAFT and how to write a hook and thesis statement.

    2.  Write an introduction using a hook and a thesis statement.  We are continuing to use the same Doc as yesterday, "Writing for the Week of March 16".  DO NOT TURN IT IN until Friday. 

    3. Go to Mrs. Palleschi's Learning Place tab on her website and click spelling city and use spelling teach me and one of the free games.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Introduction using a hook and thesis statement.

    Math

    I can: Practice my basic facts on Moby Fact Fluency.

    I can: Watch the video reminder about using the formula for volume.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Clever and click Moby.  Go to Fact Fluency and complete your 5 minutes.

    3. Complete the guided and independent practice pages for lesson 24 in your instruction book on pages 258-259.

    4. Complete practice and problem solving pages 277-278. Take pictures of completed work and insert into the provided Doc in Google Classroom.

    3. In Google Classroom, watch the video and complete the Google Doc short response stating what information you learned from the illustrations or visual elements that you didn't learn from the text.

    1. Log into Google Classroom. Read the intstructions and specific requirements on the "Writing for the week of March 16, 2020".

    2.  Complete just the prewrite part today.  Mrs. Palleschi will be checking the prewrites and offering feedback to start the drafts on Tuesday. I will be checking the doc that afternoon.

    3. Go to Mrs. Palleschi's Learning Place tab on her website and click spelling city and use spelling teach me and one of the free games.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Prewrite in Google Doc.

    Math

    I can: Practice my basic facts on Moby Fact Fluency.

    I can: Watch the video about volume where Mrs. Palleschi introduces the concept of volume by beginning lesson 24.

    I can: Finish the typing of my group battle poster project. Mrs. Palleschi can help help get the group together online. This should be mostly done since it was started last week.
