Charges & Priorities For Use Of School Facilities/Equipment

To ensure fairness and consistency in the implementation of Board policy governing use of school facilities and/or equipment, the following categories are established to determine priorities and a schedule of fees for approved users outside regular or extracurricular programs or activities when designated space and facilities are available.

In all cases, emergency uses for disasters, shelter needs, and the like will take precedence.

    Fee Arrangements and Priorities

    A.    Category 1: School Corporation Groups

School Corporation groups and/or Corporation personnel groups, defined as those providing regular or extra-curricular programs as recognized in the agreement between MCAS and MCEA which are educational, recreational, and/or cultural in nature will be granted first (1st) priority to available space and facilities with applications made a minimum of 6 months in advance.

Fees for Category 1:    For occasional use during usual hours of operation, no charges will be assessed

    B.    Category 2: M.C. Parks and Recreation Program Groups

M.C. Parks and Recreation related groups defined as those directly related to the programs and activities as adopted by the M.C. Parks and Recreation Board which provide educational, recreational, and cultural activities, will be granted second (2nd) priority to available space and facilities with applications made a minimum of six months in advance.

    C. Category 3: Community, Government, and/or Private Non-Profit Groups

Community, government, and/or private non-profit groups are defined as groups primarily comprised of LaPorte County residents providing civic, educational, recreational or cultural activities and staffed by volunteers. Groups charging admissions will need to show proof of non-profit status and include a copy of a state issued non-profit certificate with their application.
