    Economics

    I can…examine the theory that some teenage girls get pregnant for financial gain and provide my opinion on this topic.

    Lesson Description

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Economics Google Classroom and read the article titled “Teen Motherhood; For Some It Does Pay Off
    2. Create a google doc and in the document title box, rename it by typing your initials, the date, and Econ. 
    3. At the top right hand side of the google doc type the heading (name, date, Economics, ELearning Assignment).  
    4. Explain if you agree or disagree with the article and why you agree or disagree with the article. Your document must contain at least 3 paragraphs. 
    5. Submit the document to me at labbey@mcas.k12.in.us through Economics Google Classroom.

    Work to be turned in: Submit your response to the article in a google document through Economics Google Classroom.

    English

    I can...identify and use Dynamo power verbs in both reading and writing. 

    Lesson Description

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Review and read through the article “Power Verbs” which is posted in English Google Classroom
    2. Create a google doc and in the document title box, rename it by typing your initials, the date, and English.
    3. At the top right hand side of the google doc type the heading (name, date, English, ELearning Assignment).
    4. Write a sentence using a dynamic (power or action verb) and a sentence using a dynamo!! verb.
    5. You will repeat this 10 times for a total of 20 sentences created (10 with an ok verb and 10 with a DYNAMO verb).
    6. Submit the document to me at labbey@mcas.k12.in.us through English Google Classroom.

    Work to be turned in: Submit the document in English Google Classroom.

    Physical Science

    I can...define gravity using examples and descriptive documentation, check for understanding, and adjust content to meet the needs of the audience. 

    Lesson Description

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Read and review the article, “Gravitational waves open new chapter in long history of a spooky subject” located in our Physical Science Google Classroom
    2. Remain in PS Google Classroom and create a new google doc.  In the document title box, type your initials, the date, and PS.  At the top right hand side of the google doc type the heading (name, date, PS, ELearning Assignment).  
    3. Use your own words to describe gravity. Think about it like this…your 7-year old niece asks you what gravity is.  She is a pretty smart kid and she looks up to you.  You don’t want to disappoint her and you want to give her a good answer.  You take some time to think about your answer before you speak. 

    You check with her, throughout your explanation, to see if she is following what you’re saying.  You give her examples of what you are saying and you try to give good examples that she can picture in her head.  You continue until she gets it. 

    Now, write all that down for me!  Write up what that conversation would look like.

    Work to be turned in: Submit a document of what your explanation of gravity is in our Physical Science Google Classroom.  

     

    Earth Science

    I can...define Ultima Thule.  I can describe Ultima Thule.  I can imagine what Ultima Thule may look like.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Read and review article, “NASA spacecraft explores outermost edge of the solar system” located in Earth Science Google Classroom.
    2. In Earth Science Google Classroom, create a new google doc.  In the document title box, type your initials, the date, and ES.  At the top right hand side of the google doc type the heading (name, date, ES, ELearning Assignment).
    3. Write an essay about what Ultima Thule is. Describe what it looks like.  Then, find an image that you think represents Ultima Thule and copy and paste it into the document. 
    4. Send the document to me in Earth Science Google Classroom.

    Work to be turned in: Submit your completed document in Earth Science Google Classroom.  

           

    US History

    I can...inform others about the existence of African-American cowboys and discuss how long they have been around.  I can share details about what these people did and what they may have experienced.    

    Lesson Description

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Read and review the article, “The lesser-known history of African-American cowboys”.   
    2. Go to US History google classroom and create a document. In the document title box, type your initials, the date, and USH.  At the top right hand side of the google doc type the heading (name, date, USH, ELearning Assignment).  
    3. List 10 pieces of information that you learned from the article in a google doc and submit to teacher.

    Work to be turned in: Submit your completed document in US History Google Classroom.  

     

    PLATO

    I can...work, online, independently to complete modules and mastery tests in both core and elective courses.

    Lesson Description

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1.     Log into each of your PLATO courses and complete one mastery test in each course.
