E-Learning Days

  • When we have E-Learning days, this will be where students go to see what work they will complete.  Students will have 3 days to complete the assigned work and turn it in.  E-Learning days are in place of snow days.

    February 18, 2019 Assignments to be completed by February 21, 2019:

    Reading

    I can: understand the structure and orgination of a drama and differentiate between an act and a scene.

    I can: Read a book of my choosing at my level and provide a summary of what I have read.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Complete your Monday Must Do's in the packet I sent home on Friday.
    2. Read for 20-30 minutes and complete your reading log.
    3. Go to Moby and complete the lesson 2 lesson in your assignment tab under "Structure of Drama".  It may be at the bottom of your tab if you haven't completed past assignments.
    4. Check off your completion in the Google Sheets in Classroom.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Read for 20-30 minutes and make sure you complete your reading log entry for today.  An AR test, will follow when we return to check comprehension.
    2. Must Do packets are due on Friday.
    3. Your Reading Assignment in Moby will notify me when you are done.

    Writing

    I can: Write a correctly formatted 4-5 paragraph persuasive essay following the example format given by Mrs. Palleschi in Google Classroom.

    I can: Practice my spelling words. Completing one page in my Must Do packet.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. For the spelling words, go to Spelling City on my Learning Place.  Find list 21.  Write the words down or print the list.  
    2. You may play the games and do a practice spelling test. 
    3. Go to Google Classroom.
    4. Find the assignment for February 18 E-learning.
    5. Submit when complete and check it off on your checklist in Google Classroom as well.

    1. Submit your Google Classroom document no later than Feb 21.
    2. Must Do packets are due on Friday.

    3. If you brought home your science book, start reading and answering the questions for chapter 7, lesson 3 on the water cycle.  
    4. Many of you never completed the Pearson lesson on the Water Cycle and you now have the lesson on Climate as well.

    1. Complete the Moby lesson and I will be notified.
    2. Start your science book work for chapter 7, lesson 3.
    3. Complete your Pearson assignments

    2. Read for 20-30 minutes and complete your reading log.
    3. Go to Moby and complete the lesson in your assignment tab called "Identify a Claim" under Reasons and Evidence.  We learned about this yesterday when we were drawing conclusions.
    4. Check off your completion in the Google Sheets in Classroom.

    1. Read for 20-30 minutes and make sure you complete your reading log entry for today.  An AR test, will follow when we return to check comprehension.

    I can: practice my basic facts on Moby and will review my skills and strategies for the 4 operations using fractions through my study guide Form A test in my Must Do packet.

    1. Complete 2 pages in your Must Do packet so I can go over them tomorrow.  
    2. Go to Moby and only due Fact Fluency.
    3. DO NOT go to Moby Math.  Your Placement test has been assigned and I want to do that in class to practice testing procedures.

    1. Complete your fact fluency.
    2. Must Do packet is due Friday.  Do not worry about the Math in Action 1.  We will do two of them tomorrow.

    Science

    I can: Learn and discover information about the water cycle

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Go to Moby and your assignments tab.
    2. Click on the science lesson about the water cycle under the heading "Water on Earth".
    3. If you brought home your science book, start reading and answering the questions for chapter 7, lesson 1 on the water cycle.  
    4. If you didn't bring home your book, go to Pearson Easy Bridge then Pearson Success Net as we practiced yesterday.  I have assigned you all Chapter 7, lesson 1.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Complete the Moby lesson and I will be notified.
    2. Start your science book work as you have lessons 1 and 2 to complete by Friday on your Reading Must Do's.

    January 31, 2019 Assignments to be completed by February 08, 2019:

    Reading

    2. Go to Classroom and complete the reading log for today in the assignment "Reading Log for Jan 29-31 E-learning". Do not submit until after Thursday.  I am making a running reading log so you only have one assingment in classroom.
    3. Go to Moby and complete the 2 Reading assignments under your assignments tab on Main Ideas.
    4. Moby will notify me when you are done.  Do NOT submit your reading log until after tomorrow.  We will use it one more day.

    I can: Write a letter from the perspective of Sarah in Liberty's Kids to her Mother in England using correct paragraph structure, sentence structure, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. For the spelling words, go to Spelling City on my Learning Place.  Find list 19.  Write the words down or print the list.  
    2. You may play the games and do a practice spelling test. 
    3. Go to Google Classroom, find the assignment "Writing for January 29 E-learning" and you will see both of your documents are there.
    4. write one sentence for each word in the Google Doc.  If you are fighting for the internet with siblings, your sentences may be hand written and turned in when we return.
    5. Also, type a 4-5 paragraph letter from Sarah.  I will be checking that you follow the directions.
    6. Submit when complete.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Complete the spelling list 19 sentences in Google Classroom and click submit or hand write your sentences and turn them in when we return.
    2. Turn in your letter from Sarah in Google Classroom.
    3. Submit the lesson when both documents are done.

    1. Go to Google Classroom and access today's assignment "Writing for January 28 E-learning" and really read the questions in the prompt.
    2. Type your story in the Doc.  Give it a minute to fully load and don't create a new doc.  I am making a copy for you.
    3. Submit when complete.

    1. Submit your story when done through Classroom.

    Math

    I can: practice my basic facts on Moby and demonstrate my understanding of dividing with unit fractions through Quiz 17.  

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Moby Max and complete your fact fluency for the day. 
    2. Go to Classroom and the assignment for math.  Either print or write out the question and your answer on paper.
    3. Submit when you have completed doing the quiz so I know to expect it when we return.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Complete your fact fluency.
    2. Complete the quiz and bring either the printed and completed quiz or your handwritten version to school for a grade when we return.

    Social Studies

    I can: Learn and discover new information about Marquis de Lafayette.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Go to Google Classroom and find the assignment "Social Studies for Jan 28 E-Learning Day".
    2. Watch the episode of Liberty's Kids on You Tube.
    3. Complete the Google Doc after watching the episode.
    4. Submit when finished.

    1. Google Classroom assignment needs to be finished when done.

    ***I am putting a checklist on Google Classroom today for you to make sure you have completed ALL the E-learning days assignments.  Just hitting submit without doing the work will not count as it being completed on my end.  Look for any comments I have made and use today as a finisher for the work from the first E-learning day on January 23.***

    Writing

    I can: Research using 2 or more sources for my battle poster then take the research and type it into the Google Doc using correct spelling, paragraphing, grammar, and punctuation.  The actual poster part will be do sometime next week.  

    I can: Spell all of the spelling words for List 18 and demonstrate this knowledge taking the spelling test.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Go to History Channel's website on my teacher page learning place.  Work on completing your "Battle Project Research Paper" that was handed out in class and was sent home just in case for today.
    2. Access your group's Google Doc that we created in class.  Finish typing in the information and adding pictures.  I will look over the couple of group's Docs who said they thought they were done yesterday and give any suggestions so it is ready to print and add to the poster when we return.
    3. Go to Google Classroom and take the Quiz for Spelling List 18 (that's right I learned something new!)
    4. Submit when complete.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Complete the spelling list 18 quiz in classroom and submit when finished.
    2. Turn in your paper for research when we get back to school and re-share your Doc with me so I know to check it.

    Math

    I can: practice my basic facts on Moby and will begin to learn to understand the division of fractions with unit fractions (one is in the numerator).

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Log into Moby Max and complete your fact fluency for the day. 
    2. Complete the math lesson assigned on Moby for dividing with unit fractions. I didn't add a new assignment since I assigned so much on Wednesday.  I am still learning too class.  I will reassign lessons if needed for those who need extra help.
    3. Complete PPS pg 175-178 (I sent it home yesterday just in case).  Use your math book as a reference.  You do not need to complete anything it, but it is a great tool to have when I am not directly in front of you.

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Complete your fact fluency, Moby lesson, and iReady lesson.
    2. Turn in your PPS pg 175-178 tomorrow or when we are back to school.

    Be mindful that we will do the Guided and Independent Practice and Quiz on dividing fractions when we return.  If you have any questions, please ask on the Google Classroom Post for Math.

    Social Studies

    1. Go to Google Classroom and find the assignment "Social Studies for Jan 25 E-Learning Day".
    2. Watch the 2 episodes of Liberty's Kids on You Tube.
    3. Complete the Google Doc after watching the episodes.
    4. Submit when finished.

    1. Google Classroom assignment needs to be finished when done.

    Our Fine Arts Friday work is going to be rescheduled for an extra day next week.  Please practice the Star Spangled Banner, the Yankee Girls and Boys song (I will post the lyrics) and you need to visit Mrs. Beadles' web page for her assignment for Fine Arts Friday.

    Watch the video about Kindness for your work with Mr. Schena that will be rescheduled.  I will have a short Google Doc for you to complete on Kindness in Google Classroom.

    January 23, 2019 Assignments to be completed by February 08, 2019: 

    Reading

    I can: Read an article at my level, write a Yes Ma'am response about the article's question, and complete a short comprehension quiz.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Go to my learning place.
    2. Click on Clever and login.
    3. Go to Classroom and find the News ELA link. Submit when done.
    4. Go back to Classroom and click the assignment titled "January 23 Reading E-Learning".  Complete the Goggle Doc to prove you read today. 

    Work to be turned in:

    1. Complete your written repsonse question on Google Classroom and submit.  
    2. Read for 20-30 minutes and make sure you complete your reading log.  An AR test, will follow when we return to check comprehension.

    Writing

    3. Complete the Google Doc after watching the episodes.
    4. Submit when finished.
