This  assignment is for fifth and sixth grade.

Fifth and sixth grade, I found a wonderful project for you on you tube. It is about warm and cool colors. Six grade we were doing a warm and cool color project just before we had to learn from home. Watch the video and work with the teacher. On the video he has a circle stencil. Before you begin find some thing you can use to make a circle. The first thing I thought of was a lid from a coffee can. See what you can find. You only need to use it twice. Second he uses a sharpie. Remember if you use a permanent marker you have to have extra paper under the drawing so that it does not bleed through and ruin furniture. Have fun!

(Assignments for elearning for April 20-23, 2020)

I was thinking, with everything that is going on right now what could I do to help? I came up with an idea, but I need your help. For this week's assignment I would like you to create a thank-you picture for doctors and nurses and all hospital staff that is doing such a good job of taking care of everyone. You guys actually gave me the idea, because of all the wonderful art you have been creating.

A couple weeks ago I had you draw cartoon superheroes. Now I would like you to celebrate real life Heroes. I'm going to ask you to make a picture or poster. You can create it by yourself or ask a parent to help. Maybe an older brother or sister would work with you, a former Coolspring Wildcat. You can make it a family project. With everyone working together.

Where can you get ideas for this? You could write a large thank you, or we love you, or we appreciate you, and then decorate it. You could draw a doctor or a nurse or a stethoscope. I have put a few links on my page to help you draw these thing, but you can search YouTube yourself for more. This way everyone does not draw the same picture. You could draw hearts. You can even make hearts like the second and third grade lesson last week. It's all up to you what your picture looks like.

When you are done please ask an adult to take a picture of it to send to me. It can be a close up picture of your work or a picture of you holding your drawing. Please make sure I have them by Tuesday April 28th a week from Tuesday. That gives you lots of time to make it. I will ask parents to email the picture to me instead of using Dojo.  rcochran@mcas.k12.in.us  I do not know if I could print the pictures from Dojo. I will then print these pictures and send them to a few hospitals. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Miss you guys!

Here are a few links to how to draw videos that you might be able to use. If you have your own ideas that is wonderful. You do not have to use theses videos, they are only here to give you an idea if needed.

This assignment is for the week of April 13-15th.

For the next few weeks we will be having elearning on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only. I will be putting an assignment up for every grade level no matter what day you have Art class. So even if you have Art on Thursday, please still do one Art lesson a week. I am making a video of myself creating a lesson. Students, please do not grade me on my video techniques. I sure could use some of your help in making these videos. I had planned on starting color units with you at school. I was going to use chalk and paints. I do not think everyone has these supplies at home, so we will do the best we can. I miss you all!
