    Spring Board 2.3a Academic and Social Vocabulary Review

    Learning Target:

    Language Arts 7th grade - Krueger Middle School

    • Lesson Description

    • We will continue to work on our reading and writing through Independent Reading and a Quickwrite prompt.  Please see specific directions posted on Google Classroom (go to Google Classroom through your usual way or click on the link for your classroom below). We will then continue our lesson in SpringBoard - lesson 2.10 on pages 127 - 133

    • Steps of the Lesson:

    • 1. Open Google Classroom and respond to the QUICKWRITE prompt posted under the Classwork tab.  Remember that we set the timer for three minutes in class, so only write for three minutes. You may use the following links to go to Google Classroom: Google Classroom Block 1, Google Classroom Block 2, or Google Classroom Block 4.

    • 2. Read SpringBoard Activity 2.10 pages 127 - 133.    Remember that you can access your SpringBoard book through Clever.  Submit your answers in the Classwork/Assignment section of Google Classroom or write in your book if you brought it home.

    • 3. Read your Independent Reading book for at least 20 minutes. Write in planner pages read and one sentence summary.

    • Work to be turned in: QUICKWRITE writing prompt on Google Classroom.  SpringBoard questions 1 - 5 on pages 132 - 133 (these are very short answer - one or two sentences will be enough for each).



    Math 7

    I can...recognize that a constant rate of change or slope describes a linear function.

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Do eLearning warmup in Google Classroom.
    2. Complete p. 202-207 in your Instruction Book and p. 223-224 in your PPS Book. (Due Thursday)
    3. Visit Kohn Academy and "sign up" to complete the 2nd online assignment.  There are 3 short videos and 2 short practices.  (Due Thursday)
    4. Turn in hard copy of p.202-207 (IB) and p.223-224 (PPS) when you return to school.
    5. Make sure you complete your 60 minutes and 4 lessons for I-ready

    Work to be turned in:

    Your Warmup in  Google Classroom.  Answer the questions for p.202-207 in your Instruction Book and in Google Classroom.  Turn in hard copies of p.202-207 (IB) and p.223-224 (PPS) when you return to school.



    4th Block - 8th Grade Math

    I can... describe a sequence of transformations that shows the congruence of two figures.

    I can... explain that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another after performing a series of rotations, reflections, and translations.

    ELA 7th Grade
    Lesson Description

    We will continue to work on our reading and writing through Independent Reading and a Quickwrite prompt.  Please see specific directions posted on Google Classroom (go to Google Classroom through your usual way or click on the link for your classroom below). We will then follow with our regulary scheduled iReady Reading Day.  

    Steps of the Lesson:

    1. Open Google Classroom and respond to the QUICKWRITE prompt posted under the Classwork tab.  Remember that we set the timer for three minutes in class, so only write for three minutes. You may use the following links to go to Google Classroom: Google Classroom Block 1, Google Classroom Block 2, or Google Classroom Block 4.

    2. Work on iReady Reading.  Remember to pay full attention to the lesson.  Your goal is 45+ minutes a week and to pass two quizzes.

    3. Read your Independent Reading book for at least 20 minutes. Write a sticky note in your planner of your page numbers read and a one sentence summary (or just write in your planner page).

    Work to be turned in: QUICKWRITE writing prompt on Google Classroom.  Completed iReady Reading minutes/lessons/quizzes.

    • I can use context clues in literacy and informational texts to determine the meanings of unknown words or to clarify the meanings of words with multiple meanings.

    I-Ready: Determine Word Meaning From Context Clues

    Agenda

    1. Login to I-Ready. Go to the MCAS district webpage and click on CLEVER.  Login to I-Ready with your username and password.

    2. Complete the assigned lesson, “Determine Word Meaning from Context Clues.”

    3. Complete the I-Ready Quiz.

    Completion of I-Ready lesson and quiz is worth 20 points and due by January 30th.

    1. Go to Google Classroom (4th) for today's date.
    2. Complete pages 217 and 218 in the Practice & Problem Solving Workbook  
    3. Please make sure you are answering all parts of the questions. If it tells you to explain, please EXPLAIN.
    4. Pages are due no later than Wednesday, January 30th.

     

    Various students that contain an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) are allowed to utilize specific accomodations to complete their daily goals in the classroom.

    During E-Learning days, students will be able to use these sources to help them with their accomodations.

    2. Text-to-Speech feature: Remember, if you want to use your text-to-speech feature on your chrome book for any of the assignments, click on the setting icon on your chrome book, and type in the word ACCESSIBILITY in the search bar.  Once there, click on Enable accessibility features. Under text-to-speech, turn on the Enable ChromeVox(spoken feedback). Next, turn on Enable select-to-speech option. Once you do that, the directions are stated for how to use this feature.  Highlight the text you want to have read aloud, then press the search button + S, and it will be read to you. Be sure you set the text-to-speech voice settings to a voice, speed, and loudness you want.
