Standards Covered
Here are the standards covered in each subject:
- Algebra I https://www.doe.in.gov/sites/default/files/standards/algebra-i-standards-updated-march-2020.pdf
Rules and Consequences
My rules are be respectful and be responsible. I expect students:
- Be on time to class
- Bring all necessary supplies (chromebook, pencils, folder with notes and homework, and a positive attitude)
- Raise your hand for permission to speak.
- Speak to others in a kind manner.
- Always put in 100% effort.
Consequences for not following rules:
- Verbal or nonverbal reminder/reprimand
- Change in seat/loss of participation points
- Sent to REC
- Phone Call Home
- Referral to Office
Because behaviors can varying in severity with regards to class disruption and threatening the safety of self and others, I reserve the right to skip steps in this continuum. I also reserve the right to request a parent/teacher conference when I feel necessary to ensure student success.
Classwork
When an assignment is given in class, time will be given to complete it. It is expected that the student work diligently during this time to complete it. If a student does not finish an assignment in class, it then becomes homework. It is expected that the assignment will be taken home that night, completed, and turned in the next day. Students will have until the day of the unit test to turn in classwork/homework. Students may also correct any classwork/homework for which they do not receive a 10. Corrections are due the day of the test.
Grading
Academics:
Grades are determined by total points. Classwork assignments are 10 points each, formative assessments are 10 points for completion. Tests are 100 points each and there will be three of them each quarter. There will be occasional opportunities for extra credit. Grades will be assigned based on the percentage of total points as follows:
- 90-100% A
- 80-89% B
- 70-79% C
- 60-69% D
- Below 60% F
