Meet the Teacher
Welcome! I have been working with children for over 20 years. I have my BS in psychology from Ball State University, my teaching certification from University of Phoenix and my Masters in curriculm and design from Azirzona State University! I was a preschool teacher, worked my way up to an Assitant Director for LaPetite Academy in Scottsdale AZ and finally became a Director. I loved the expericence I gainned in management but missed working with the kiddos! I worked in a residential treatment facility in the school setting with the younger kids. This is where I learned my classroom management style. I taught in Paradise Valley Unified School district for 9 years. I taught 2 years in 5th grade, 4 years in kindergarten and 3 years in first grade. I took a ten year break from teaching to raise our daughter! Throughout that time, I taught for Ivy Tech in Valpo and did some substitue teaching in Michigan City Area Schools and New Prairie! I have been teaching kindergarten at Joy for 5 years and I LOVE my Fruitloops! I enjoy hanging out with family, walking our 3 dogs and being around horses! My bad habit is Diet Coke from Mc Donalds!
