Homework is assigned daily except for Friday. It is usually math or unfinished work from that school day. Students will also have a daily reading log that needs to be filled out and signed as well as spelling homework. All homework will be sent home in a red folder and is expected to be returned the following day unless noted.
During vacation time during the school year and summer, there are several ways to keep your child "in shape" for their academics. Visit a local library weekly. Have your child read to you and vice versa. Ten to fifteen minutes daily of some kind of reading can do wonders for your child. Writing can also help tremendously. Having a journal or diary and retelling an important event in some way can enhance creativity as well as their writing skills. Using the internet by finding attractive topics can motivate any child in writing and reading. Today, the world is at your fingertips!!!!
