Safe Harbor Out-of-School Time Programming

    Safe Harbor provides high quality enrichment programming and dedicated academic support to
    Michigan City elementary, middle, and high school students 
    of Michigan City. All Michigan City students are eligible for participation.

    Elementary After School Enrichment
    3:00-6:00 pm Monday- Friday
    Knapp, Edgewood, Joy, Lake Hills, Marsh, Coolspring
    $20.00 per month per student
    Elementary Before School Care
    6:00-8:30 am Monday- Friday
    Knapp, Edgewood, Joy, (Lake Hills, Marsh- Currently suspended due to staffing shortage)
    $2.00 per hour per child
    Financial assistance available by application
    Middle School Club Discovery 
    2:15-5:30 pm Monday - Thursday
     Barker & Krueger Middle Schools 
    $5.00 per year per student- Waived for 2020-2021 
    High School Club Inspire
    2:15-5:30 pm Monday - Thursday
    Michigan City High School
    $5.00 per year per student- Waived for 2020-2021
     Transportation home is available on an MCAS school bus for the Middle and High School students after the program.  
    No student will be denied Safe Harbor after school services based on lack of
    payment. We appreciate your monthly contribution to the sustainability of Safe Harbor. Fee
    collection is directly linked to the Safe Harbor overall budget therefore Fee Collection is
    essential to the program’s sustainability.

    Safe Harbor is proud to be a 21st Century Community Learning Center and to partner with Michigan City Area Schools, Lubeznik Center for the Arts, Hours for Ours, LaPorte County YMCA, Dunebrook Nurturing Parents, Purdue University Northwest, the Michigan City Public Library,  Museum of Science and Industry, and Challenger Learning Center.
