Solar Eclipse Information - April 8, 2024
Just as we return from Spring Break, on Monday, April 8, we will be part of a remarkable event: We will be in the path of a solar eclipse! The Michigan City area will experience 96% totality at 2:08 pm, with the partial eclipse phase starting at 12:52 pm and lasting until 3:23 pm.
While this is an amazing educational opportunity, there are also potential risks. Viewing of the eclipse without proper eye protection can cause permanent damage to vision; regular sunglasses do NOT provide adequate protection.
