    Student-Led Conferences

Michigan City Area Schools is excited to launch a new practice for all students in grades K-8: Student-led Conferences (SLCs).

Unlike traditional parent-teacher conferences, these meetings are completely student-led. During the SLC, students present a portfolio to family members and teachers (or Crew leaders), reflecting on their successes, challenges, and growth.

Every student in our district, K-8, will lead a conference, and we hope that at least one adult from each family can be present.

Start times could vary; schools will be communicating with parents regarding start times and other important information. (High School conferences will still be in the traditional format this year, and will be held during the times listed below.)
    Elementary: 12:30 - 7:15pm
    Middle & High School: 11:30 - 6:15pm

Please note that March 7, 2024 is an Early Release Day for MCAS students.
