Welcome to Our Class

Welcome to 5th Grade at Joy Elementary. I am so excited to begin this school year with you. This year we will be learning many skills that are crucial to student success. I can't wait to begin this virtual experience with you. 

Hi! My name is Miss Dickson. This is my 2nd year teaching. I graduated from Purdue NorthWest 
in 2018 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology.
I did my student teaching at South Central in 2nd grade, where learned that I love working with the 
younger students, but I'm looking forward to the challenges of working with older students.  I have also 
worked in remediation for grades K-5 in Portage Schools.I am eager to continue putting my skills to use 
and excited to be part of the Wolves' family. My favorite hobbies are to go to the beach, reading, and playing 
sports. I am so excited to begin this journey with your student. I know this is a challenging start to the year, 
but together we will do great things! 
It's going to be a great year in 5th grade.
