Our program, developed in consultation with regional business and industry, prepares students for entry-level employment in the metalworking and manufacturing fields. High-tech laboratory experiences give students hands-on opportunities to work with engine lathes, milling and drilling machines, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines. The curriculum includes machining fundamentals, applied mathematics, introduction to print reading, assembly, pneumatics, and CAD & CAM.
Here at LaPorte County Career & Tech Ed. we strive to help young students become skilled professional adults. Also, we are proud to be a part of the student organization "SkillsUSA" where students have a chance to attend leadership conferences along with competing in vocational skill-based competitions.
