Welcome to the Marsh Elementary School website! Our school is located at 401 E. Homer Street in Michigan City. Marsh is one of eight elementary schools in the MCAS district, and is a Title I Schoolwide School. Marsh has been serving the community over 100 years and is one of the last "neighborhood" schools in the district. Presently there are approximately 360 students in grades K through 6.
Marsh has a highly qualified and caring staff that is dedicated to the success of all students. Our school improvement plan focuses on strategies to improve student achievement in reading and math. Marsh emphasizes the importance of high quality instruction and uses student data to drive instruction, and plan student interventions as needed. We offer a variety of support systems and services to address student learning needs, including Student Support Services, Response to Instruction, Speech, ENL, and an onsite Safe Harbor program. Our staff has implemented PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) to maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment for all (see PAWS behavior expectations below).
