Welcome back for another exciting year! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and to the awesome learning adventures ahead. This year will be full of wonder, growth, excitement, possibilities and discoveries.

While your child will continue to learn their sight words, they will also continue to learn to put all of this, along with their sounds together, to increase their reading fluency! As their fluency increases, so will their comprehension, vocabulary, writing and most of all-confidence! Please, be their biggest supporter and encourage reading at home daily. Equally important are our math facts. I cannot stress how important daily practice of addition/subtraction facts are as well. If you need support in any of these areas or ideas, please let me know.

I invite you to stay active with our class through Class Dojo. Information is attached if you have not already signed up. This is a quick and easy way to get information on changes in our schedule, reminders, or just a quick note to update me or me to update you,

Every Monday look for your child’s purple homework folder to come home along with a yellow envelope. The yellow envelope contains information, notes, and graded papers. Please remove the papers, return any which need to be returned, sign the envelope and return it the next day. The purple homework folders are due back on Friday of that same week. Please return the completed homework in the purple homework folder.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or celebrations, as I will you. Please remember that we are striving to become fun, fabulous, fantastic, responsible and respectful first graders! We also try everything and do our best everyday.
