Krueger Honored with "ROSE" Award

Krueger Middle School was honored at the 2012 LaPorte/Porter County R.O.S.E. Awards luncheon in Chesterton on May 10. The R.O.S.E. (Recognition of Service Excellence) Awards recognize those who provide excellent service or otherwise go the extra mile to make LaPorte and Porter Counties a great place for visitors and residents alike to enjoy.

Krueger Middle School received the "Green Award" for its efforts in the area of environmental science, including the establishment of a two-mile, student created learning trail that will be open for school field trips and public tours later this spring. (MCAS Superintendent Dr. Barbara Eason-Watkins was also honored at the event, with the "Quality of Life/Quality of Place" award, given each year to an individual, business, or organization that makes important contributions to improving the area's quality of life.)
